Aloha - Julie & Michel

Michel walked into the Listel Vancouver Hotel and into his destiny! It was a balmy sunny day in September of 2000. Michel had just arrived in Vancouver from his road trip across Canada and was seeking out his brother Alain, who was working as a valet.

As Michel approached the entrance to the hotel, the glass doors parted, and a bright reflection blinded his sight to make him turn away….and when he turned back, a feast for his eyes met him.

"Hello!" Julie said, with a ring in her welcoming tone. And she thought to herself, "Why is this guy so sweaty?"

And the rest is history………Michel got a job at the hotel as a valet, where he worked alongside Julie, who worked at the Front Desk. In the first months of their acquaintance, Julie did not notice Michel, as she was in the midst of a break-up. Then the time came, when Michel felt it was appropriate to pounce. She could not resist his charms, his witty humour and that French accent. They fell madly in love!

In the past six years of their relationship, Julie and Michel have been through many adventures together. They have partied in Cancun, trekked through the canyons of northern Mexico, survived a bus crash in Oaxaca, lived in Gatineau for 1 year, moved back to Vancouver, relaxed in Cuba, and spent a year apart while Julie worked in San Jose del Cabo.

And so the adventures continue….

Currently, Michel is a successful CSR Supervisor for a well-known online gambling company. Julie is a preschool and kindergarten teacher in downtown Vancouver.

Together they enjoy: great food experiences (dining and cooking), travelling, hockey (Julie watching Michel playing), watching funny tv shows and food tv shows, couch potato days, nights out with friends, and car dancing to songs on the radio.
